Fees

• There is no filing fee for the submission of a case.
• There are no processing or prolonged case fees.
• There are no postponement or cancellation fees.
• There is no expedited procedures fee.
• There is no “sliding scale” charges based upon the amount in controversy.
• The only amount you pay is an hourly fee or a per day fee for Tom Crowley’s services, plus expenses. This amount is usually split equally among the parties, unless the parties agree otherwise.
• Tom Crowley’s current hourly fee is $275.00 per hour.
• If off-island travel is required, Tom charges for transportation and lodging expenses, such as airfare, hotel, and car rental, but not for travel time.
• The parties are required to make an advanced deposit toward the anticipated mediation or arbitration fees and costs. The advance deposit is placed in a client trust account, and applied as fees and costs are incurred. If the fees and costs at the end of the case are less than the balance in the trust account, the remaining balance is returned to the parties. If the fees and costs exceed the balance held in trust, the parties are sent a statement for the balance due.
